Shop Tour

The Spellbound Bead Co has had a shop in the historic City of Lichfield since 1995, and we have been at our current address, 47 Tamworth Street, since 2006.  Lichfield is a beautiful city, packed with independent shops and more pubs and eateries that you would think possible, as well as a stunning cathedral, famous for its three spires, an excellent theatre and much more - all in all the perfect place for a bead shop and a lovely day out!

The shop is crammed to the rafters with anything and everything beady - from floor to ceiling, wall to wall, in every available nook and cranny you will find beads, threads, tools, kits, findings, books and magazines.

As you come into the shop you will find beads galore - trays of loose beads in delicious colours and finishes on all the surfaces, jewellery kits all over the walls, and a changing display hanging from the ceiling that might be baubles, or jewellery, or something else entirely!

Take a few more steps in and you will find a massive array of seed and Twin beads.  Above left to right - part of our range of Preciosa Twin beads; Miyuki size 11 seed beads; lots of packs of Miyuki size 15 seed beads on the wall and our lovely old wooden dresser that is filled top to toe with Preciosa seed and bugle beads.

A few more steps in for all sorts of threads, findings, hand tools, Tulip needles and beautiful crystal bicones.

and opposite the counter are the walls of Delicas - almost 1,300 different colours and finishes!

This room also houses more loose beads, presentation bags and boxes, bead mats and chain. In the front counter you will find a selection of sterling silver (both beads and findings) and diamante stones, both loose and in a selection of settings.

Onward and into the back room ... fire polished faceted glass beads; crystals in all shapes and sizes; glass pearls; more kits; lots of beautiful coloured wire and our very twinkly Christmas corner

There are, of course, plenty of things I haven't mentioned on this walk through the shop like the fabulous bead mixes, hex beads, odd short run items that we only have at the shop, the special offers that sometimes appear on the front counter, and of course all the lovely staff that work so hard to keep the shop and mail order running like clockwork and making sure all of our customers are properly looked after.

Please note that due to space constraints we do not hold wholesale quantities of all lines on these premises and although we endeavour to be fully stocked at all times we do run out of things sometimes too!

If you are making a special journey to see us to buy large quantities - eg of half kilos of seed beads, or quantities of loose baubles - please call to order in advance.  We usually have two deliveries a week from the warehouse so would need a few days notice before you visit for collection of any bulk orders.
